Successful People Do 7 Things Consistently

“Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value.” Albert Einstein. As anyone who is familiar with the Internet knows; there are loads of hype, scams and all sorts of schemes daily that are designed by someone sitting behind a computer either here in the states or abroad whose only objective is to get someone’s money without giving anything of value in return.

A true leader and successful person is not trying to line his pockets with some else’s money but they have integrity and have a desire to offer value that will help others to achieve success. Their desire is always about doing things in a right way; things that are above board and above taking advantage of others. In turn they become very successful…A successful person is a person of value.

Below are 7 things successful people do consistently:

1.     They take responsibility for their own success

2.     They systematically reinvest into their business and their self

3.     They work at their business consistently

4.     They strongly believe in their business and products and use them

5.     They are self motivated

6.     They are involved in continuous education

7.     Retirement to do nothing is not their objective

They take responsibility for their own success:

Thriving businesses are not built by passing the buck. They are built by responsible people who take charge and when things don’t work or go wrong, they fix them instead of blaming others. Their time is not spent in complaining, groaning and moaning but in searching for workable solutions to their problems and then taking the appropriate actions to resolve or correct them.

They have a positive outlook that includes creating products and services that go beyond just making money but add purpose and value to the lives of others. Their life is for purpose and not a magnet for self centered personal gain.

Here is a recent example of giving value rather than always selfishly looking out for #1:  Fresno, California County School Superintendent Larry Powell, decided to help his financially strapped school districts out by giving back $800,000 in salary and compensation benefits over the next three years. Instead of his regular salary for running the 325 schools in 35 districts with 195,000 students, he will serve for less than a beginner teacher would earn; that is $31,000 a year without benefits.

They systematically reinvest into their business and their self:

A large percent of the net profit goes back into the business to expand its potential. Budgets for advertising rise continually. More and more of the mundane responsibilities are outsourced to free up more time for planning and structuring for more effectiveness. They realize that time is the most valuable asset and therefore must be used wisely and to the best interests of the business.

They realize that if they are to provide a better business that they must grow in knowledge and expertise. A large part of profits is invested in furthering knowledge. Some spend as much as $20,000 and upward per month to keep abreast of new technology. Highly developed technology does not come cheap.

They work at their business consistently:

A business is not a hobby to be taken up at a whelm; it is a serious proposition that needs constant attention. Yes I realize that one of the reasons for a home business is to free up more time for personal recreation and that is an important feature of running your own business but what I’m saying is that it is not done at the cost of neglecting your responsibilities as an entrepreneur.

Much of a well designed Internet business can be automated to work for you as you sleep or vacation but attention is always required to stay abreast of needed changes and development.

The benefits of running your own business are great. I have worked for myself for many years but it has been work and a lot of it. A lot of money is not usually made without a lot of effort. While it is wise to outsource and to hire workers, it is not wise to turn over the overseeing of your interest completely to others.

They strongly believe in their business and products and use them:

If you don’t believe in your business and use the products that you want to sell to others, why do you deserve to be successful? People are not stupid and they can tell how sincere you are about your offer and your products.

I’m really amazed at how some who call themselves entrepreneurs can constantly sell others undervalued products and then laugh at how dumb their customers are. Maybe you call fool people into buying shoddy products and gain money through false claims but in the long run you are the one who loses the best opportunity of all and that is helping others and providing high quality services and products.

They are self motivated:

To be able to arrive at work on time and to work a full day when you don’t have too is called self motivation and it is what builds large successful businesses. If a person needs someone else to keep them motivated, then they are best suited for working for someone else instead of themselves.

Motivation sometimes means pushing yourself to the next level or taking that extra training necessary to move forward. It is structuring your workweek to be the most effective, eradicating time wasters and busy work that accomplishes little.

They are involved in continuous education:

The Internet marketing industry is ever changing; continuous training is a requirement; it is lifelong or for as long as you’re involved. It is an investment that brings back great returns.

There is a learning curve in any industry. Successful people are eager to learn everything they can about their field. They want to be up to date on the latest news and training. They make it their purpose to always be learning and growing personally. This is too much bother for the amateur and the less informed; it is too much trouble and takes too much time.

Retirement to do nothing and loss of purpose is not their objective:

J.C. Penny was still working at his business at 95. Colonel Sanders made his fortune after retirement age. Many of the most successful people in history obtained success or furthered it in the latter years of life.

Statistics bears out the fact that the average life span after retirement is very short. When there is no purpose, there is no purpose to live.

Travel and having the time and money to do things that were not possible before is one of the amenities of success but it does not have to be at the cost of losing purpose.

Retirement has never been my objective in life. I had rather know that my life counts for something than to spend my time lying on a beach somewhere or doing nothing. I enjoy the beach and sometimes just doing nothing but it is not my purpose.

I have never particularly been fond of politicians but I do respect those who continue to serve well past retirement when they could easily retire and do nothing.

Conclusion:

If success is what you want, then you must follow the leaders who know the way. Learn from those that are successful; listen to what they say and never fail to take action on what you learn. Every successful person started out as unsuccessful at the beginning. Some started with hardly any money and built great wealth. They had no idea how to do it at first but had to learn and to continue to learn. But learn they did and succeed they did. Why would you think that you couldn’t do that also?

I have great confidence in the progress you are going to make.
