Wealth has its beginning on the inside; having knowledge of yourself, your aptitude, your dreams and aspirations, your gifts and skills. Many have never taken the time to look closely inside to evaluate these things.

“Wealth is an Inside Job. What’s going on, on the inside, will determine one’s wealth on the outside.” Lisa M

Ironically Elvis Presley had no concept at all for nearly the first 20 years of his life on how greatly talented he was. He liked to sing but only in front of his mother and dad; he was ashamed to sing before others.

It is almost by sheer luck that his talent was ever discovered. Even after he made a personal recording at Sun Records, and was heard by an experienced music producer, Sam Phillips, owner of Sun Records, who was a talent scout throughout the 40s and 50s, it was still undiscovered. It took Sam Phillips a year and a half after Elvis made his personal recording to give him a call back.

It makes you wonder how many great talents are never discovered.

Many already have a store of wealth inside that never has surfaced to aid others or themselves. True wealth has its beginning inside your heart, your soul and your mind. It must be discovered there first before it can be externalized. The saying surely is true, wealth from the inside out.

Not only is it necessary to first discover your strengths and gifts but then it is necessary to develop them. This is what is referred to as personal development, the step so many miss when they begin to create wealth. You can create material wealth without the inter personal development but here is the deal: external wealth doesn’t produce happiness, internal wealth fully developed does.

The definition of wealth is, “The abundance of something valuable”. Gold is valuable and so is money, therefore an abundance of these things is counted as material wealth. Now for a question: Which had you rather have, Material wealth and be unhappy or internal wealth and be happy. The best answer is why not have both.

Here is the thing: It is possible to be very wealthy in material things and have no internal wealth. In one of Billy Graham’s books, “The Secret to Happiness”, he lists a group of about a dozen men who were famous and wealthy and then followed their life up to the end and almost all of them ended their life in misery; some committed suicide and others went to prison but not a one found true happiness and real purpose.

So in order to experience true wealth we must begin on the inside and discover what we really are and develop ourselves to become all that we can be.

This may seem like a paradox to you but wealth grows by giving to others. And actually there is more happiness generated by giving than by getting. That familiar verse of scripture, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” is a wise key to happiness. This was also a primary principle in Napoleon Hill’s book, “Think and Grow Rich”. Hill said that anyone who could figure out a plan to help others to succeed would also grow rich, to paraphrase his premise. Our giving of our time, money, talents, knowledge also opens the door for receiving more for ourselves.

Some fear success as much as they do failure because it is the unknown. What will be expected of them when they are successful? Can they measure up? And are they worthy? All these questions we must first answer in our heart before we can achieve wealth.

Build up your courage; take action; fulfill your dreams. Use your talents and gifts to add value to the lives of others. Fulfill your purpose for being on this earth. Put away your fear; stand tall and move forward.

You have a potential for greatness that is lying dormant inside you. Don’t let it go down the drain with a wasted life. Develop it; read books; take training courses; join progressive groups and build your blueprint and began to construct your own success a step at a time.

Consider this excellent quote, “Wealth plays no Favorites, reacts only to a specific set of actions.” Those actions are the ones that you put together beginning from the inside with your drams and aspirations.

Set your own goals and relentlessly pursue them. Don’t let anything distract you or discourage you; neither failure, opposition, storms nor the voice of others or anything else.  Share your knowledge with others; help others; be honest at all times; never let greed or selfishness rule in your life. Be true to yourself, your love ones and friends and never betray them at all costs.

Set lofty priorities to love your spouse with an everlasting love and always to be true and faithful. Raise your children to respect authority. Teach them how to respect others and how to conduct themselves at all times. Never miss the opportunity to show them new things and to teach them on an ongoing basis; this is your primary responsibility in life.

Learn how to be content with what you have and to live a peaceable life with all others. It was Dale Carnegie who said, “Learn to live in day tight compartments”. Like a ship can be sealed off into compartment so should one’s life. Yesterday is gone forever and is no longer to be counted, tomorrow is only a hope but right now is the reality. Live in the presence and use it and not squander it in foolish activities that produce no good but only bring evil.

Take care of the things you have especially your body and your health. Get rid of habits that cost in the terms of money and health and add no real value to your life. Enjoy your restful sleep and enjoy the good and healthy food that you are privileged to have.

When the internal wealth continues to grow, it will spill over and the external material wealth will also grow. Finally don’t set you goal to be the wealthiest person on earth. 75% of the wealth of the United States is owned by only 5%. You are wealthy if you are happy and are contributing to the needs of others and have the needs of life. The fact is if you have that, your are among the to 10% of the wealthiest people in the world.

Conclusion: Don’t try to be the Lone Ranger. Get a mentor who has already achieved what you want and then copy the things he has proven to work. By taking his lead, you can avoid wasting a lot of time and money on things that do not work. Remember, Wealth starts from the inside so the time you spend in your personal development endeavor will pay off big.
