We live in a very uncertain world today where violence instead of peace reigns; anything can happen. It is hard to predict what the future holds, but even so, we can have peace of mind, but it can only come from a relationship with God. “My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world, John 14:27. I want to show you how you can find everlasting peace today.

Louis B. Mayer was a giant among American film producers. He is the creator of the “star system” within Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM). He was the first man to earn a million dollar a year salary. His achievements in the film industry are phenomenal. Mayer’s reputation is that he created “more stars than there are stars in the heavens”. However, regardless of all he accomplished in his life, his last words were “Nothing matters. Nothing matters.” No one knows for sure what he meant by that, but there is one thing, and that is no accomplishment’s matter when it comes time to die if there is no hope.

We all build our hope on something. Perhaps our hope is in building personal development. It may be in a promising career, or a family and friends. Build your hope on something solid that will last all eternity.

Jesus knew where all hope lay; he said, “Everyone who hears these words of mine, and acts upon them, may be compared to a wise man, who built his house upon the rock. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and burst against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded upon the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine, and does not act upon them, will be like a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and burst against that house; and it fell, and great was its fall,” Matthew 7:24-27.

Our life on earth is only a dot in time compared to all eternity. But God has given us this time to build something of significance that will never end. Everything on earth, including all its real estate, riches and glory, will one day turn into a cinder, just as the foolish man’s house is destroyed by the storm, but there is one thing that will never end, and that is our relationship with God. Those who build their hope upon the rock of his love will endure through eternity in God’s beautiful heaven.

Humanity in part has turned from God to attempt to do their own thing: “We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way” Isaiah 53:6. Just like Mr. Mayer said at the end of life “Nothing matters, Nothing matters” is the result of everything outside of a true relationship with God. Nothing really does matter if our only hope is the few years of trouble we experience on this earth.

We live in a time that, because of exponential technology, the future presents great hope in the material world. As exciting as improved technology may be, it does not matter at all when you consider God’s grand scheme of things. God’s plan is to provide an eternal home in heaven for his children, where every  tear  will  be  whipped  away  and  every sin  and  sorry  on  this  earth  will be destroyed forever.

The greatest problem we face in our world today is not physical but spiritual.  Man’s greatest curse has not changed, and that is sin. Man’s greatest need remains the same, his need for forgiveness. Instead of facing that problem and dealing with it, many have rather distanced themselves from God. There is only one solution, to find our way back to God through his son Jesus Christ.

Jesus said, “I am the way the truth and the life and no man cometh to the Father but by me” John 14:6. God has made the way simple to come to him: “With the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made.” “For God so loved the world that whosoever believeth on him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16. “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved,” Romans 10:13.

Find your way back to God: First, believe in Jesus that he died on the cross, which, was buried and arose from the grave, to pay for our sins. Second, Repent of your sins (Be willing to turn from them). Third, Confess with your mouth the Lord in prayer and publicly. Fourth, Follow Jesus in a new life.

Pray a prayer like this one: Jesus I believe that you died for me and I want to turn from my sins and trust you to forgive me for them. Come into my life and give me eternal life. I want to follow you. Amen

The Bible says, “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” It is as simple as believing Jesus died for you, turning from a sinful lifestyle and asking his forgiveness and then living a brand new life with him at the center of your life.

I just asked Jesus into my life (some helpful information follows)

I may want to ask Jesus into my life, please explain this more fully…

I have a question or comment…
