Time to Stand up Against Wokeism

“The goal of wokeism is the complete dismantling and rebuilding of western culture from the ground up, changing it from a free society to a socialistic society where the government controls every aspect of life. Why some want this is impossible to understand when it has never worked in any society.” – J.B.

The Biden administration is yielding to the wishes of the liberal far left who are entrenched in wokeism, which is just another name for Marxism. Definition: “Wokeism is a Marxist inspired movement that started off with well-intentioned people that wanted to stop racism and social injustice. It has now morphed into a cult that seeks to silence all of those that disagree. Their approach at first was using social humiliation, but now graduating to violence through Antifa and Black Lives Matter riots.” [1]   I’ve listened to several congressional interviews of Biden’s federal judge nominees, and I must say, it is scary. They are all liberal wokes who seem to care more for the rights of criminals than they do of those of law-abiding citizens. 

Too Few Americans are concerned or even understand the dangers and objectives of wokeism; if they did, they would unite to defeat it and stop it in its tracks before it gains the power to restrict religious freedom, freedom of speech, and other liberties. Woke is not just another fad like the hippy movement of the 60s and 70s; it is a real threat to the American way of life. Already today, it is no longer safe to speak out without the fear of ruining your career or of bodily harm. The woke agenda includes equity, not equality, racism with a new label. Racial Equality means equal starting point, everybody has the same opportunity. Whereas, racial equity means the same wealth, every race should have the same amount of money, the same opportunity regardless of qualifications It seeks to cancel American culture and traditional norms, delete history, redefine words, teach critical race theory in public schools, and destroy objective science to create a Marxist form of socialism. 

Woke is a virus more dangerous than Covid-19; it furiously attacks Western civilization intending to destroy it to build a new order. It is already infecting every part of the American society; it is in our public schools, in colleges and universities (Recently college students called out to former Vice President Pense, “We are the woke far left.”) It is in the church, the workforce, the federal government, state government, local government, and everywhere else. If Americans don’t stand up, it is only a matter of time until the America we have known will be a thing of the past. We either have to stand up to these radical wokes or bend a knee to their bizarre demands. Don’t think you will ignore them and mind your own business; they will come after you.                                                                                                           

Woke is not only in America, it is also affecting other countries all across the world. “This week in Finland, two Christians, Päivi Räsänen and Lutheran Bishop Juhana Pohjola, face charges for statements on Biblical sexuality. During a nearly nine-hour trial on Monday, February 14, a Finnish prosecutor laid out the case against politician Päivi Räsänen and Bishop Juhana Pohjola for expressing their Biblical beliefs about Homosexuality. The prosecutor’s supposition was the Bible does not take precedence over Finland law. The prosecutor offered not to press charges if Päivi Räsänen and Bishop Juhana Pohjola recanted their stand on Homosexuality and promised not to repeat it. They would not. So, they now face up to two years in prison.” [2] 

What does the Bible say about abiding by the law? “Let every soul be subject to higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. 2Whosoever, therefore, resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. 3For rulers are not a terror to good works, but the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? Do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. 5Wherefore ye must need be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake,” Romans 13:1-5 (KJV).

Keeping the rule of law is Biblical. However, there is an extent to abiding by the law when it controverts the law of God. When the law says it is acceptable for a man to marry a man or a woman to marry a woman, that controverts the Law of the Bible: “Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband,” 1 Corinthians 7:2 (KJV). 

Peter and the apostles answered the authorities of his day, when they demanded that they quit preaching the gospel: “Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men,” Acts 5:29 (KJV).

Finland’s action is a harbinger for America and a preview for what is headed our way if wokeism has its way. Woke philosophy is Cultural appropriation, the attempt to try and make all people the same. Definition: Cultural appropriation is “the unacknowledged or inappropriate adoption of the customs, practices, ideas, etc. of one people or society by members of another and typically more dominant people or society.” [3]  

It’s time to stand up for our beliefs and fight back. The following ten principles are a good starting place: 

1. Turn to God. When God is on our side, we are the majority: Today, the greatest need of all times in our society, these times of great apostasy, is for people to stand up for the truth of God. Those who stand for God are usually always the minority, but we become the majority when God is on our side: “The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?” Psalm 118:6 (KJV). You may not believe in God; I find it easier to believe in God because believing “Zero Plus Nothing Equals Everything” requires a lot of faith.
2. Beware, Woke Christianity is Not Christian, It’s Anti-Christ: Some Progressives in mainline denominations have set aside doctrinal integrity, making social justice their gospel, promoting the same woke principles that are infesting the rest of society. The true church should weed out these false teachers; however, in many cases, it is doubtful that they will, I agree with one writer who said church is no place for politics; it is a place to teach the Bible and worship God. That does not mean that Christians aren’t to take an interest in what is going on in government. It is our duty as Christians to stand for those things which are right. Christians have a right to be concerned what is being taught their children in public schools. They have a right to oppose how the government is spending their hard-earned tax dollars. They have a right to oppose how their liberty is being taken away. Christian Nationalism has become a new term now days. I don’t agree with everything about it, but I do believe that God blesses nations that uphold the Bible and I believe He has judged nations throughout history who did not.
3. We Americans are free. The Constitution of the United States guarantees our freedom: Stand firm on that premise and don’t roll over and play dead to satisfy an upside-down world. Stand for what is right and what you believe to be the truth, even though there are crazies out there who want to tramp you down and shut you up if you disagree with them. Just today, I heard Marsha Blackburn, the senior senator from Tennessee, report to Congress on a bulletin sent out by the Office of Homeland Security that seemed to restrict anyone from disagreeing with the policies of the Biden administration and instructing anyone who does to be reported to the police, which indicates they are considered domestic terrorists. I hope that is a wrong interpretation of the bulletin and that Alejandro Mayorkas, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, will send out a clarification. 
4. Maintain honesty and integrity: Do not jump to conclusions or say anything about others until you know the facts. Be slow to agree with every crazy thing you hear until you have time to research it to see if it is false. I’m primarily talking about conspiracy theories or anything that sounds absurd, or inviting derision or mockery. Think about it: when you realize how ridiculous some conspiracies are, you will have to laugh. State your beliefs out loud and refuse to accept wokeism, and perhaps it will cause others to have the backbone to speak up.
5. Don’t betray your principles to alleviate the false assumptions of others; use your brain and think for yourself: Dr. Ben Carson said, “God gave us a magnificent brain; it has billions and billions of neurons and hundreds of billions of inter connections. It can remember everything you have ever seen or ever heard. It can process two million bits in one second. So, why would God give you something like that to be a sheep and follow what somebody else tells you to do.” Many did follow like sheep during the summer of 2020 when mobs flooded the streets in major cities rioting, killing, burning buildings and police cars, and looting. If you have decent ideals and can use your brain, you know mob violence is wrong, so never join a mob with the motive of a peaceful protest. Be professional if you disagree with someone. Rather than calling them out publicly, approach them privately and politely question their beliefs.  
6. Let your behavior be an excellent example for your family and your community: Sometimes, it takes courage to do the right things. We have the freedoms we enjoy today because others throughout history have stood firm, sometimes sacrificing their own lives. Many in the past, who gave their full measure standing for their faith, have been martyred, more in the last century than all history combined. Just this week, I read where the terrorists had executed 10 Christians. We certainly do not want that in America. If we stand together, we can defeat the threats coming from those who want to sanction all who disagree with their radical philosophy. 
7. If you disagree with the direction of any institution, don’t participate: That could be a job, a college class, or any other organization. There is no way I would attend a liberal college or work for a liberal company that promotes wokeism.
8. Encourage the elected officials from your state to take action against wokeism: Ron DeSantis, governor of Florida, said, “We want people treated equally. We don’t want ideology.” Governor Ron DeSantis also recently unveiled the “Stop the Wrongs to Our Kids and Employees Act, or Stop WOKE Act,” to oppose progressive indoctrination in schools, higher education, and corporations. The proposed legislation would put into statute a prohibition on teaching critical race theory in K-12 schools and defund money going toward Critical Race Theory consultants at every level of education, including colleges and universities. DeSantis said during a December press conference, ‘No taxpayer dollars should be used to teach our kids to hate our country or to hate each other.’” [4] You can contact your elected officials and your congressional representatives and senators through their website either by phone or email; I prefer email.
9. Avoid complacency: We must not become complacent about saving Western Civilization. It is past complacency that has caused the present woke movement. It also led to evil leaders like Xi Jinping, dictator of China, Valdemar Putin, autocrat of Russia, Kim Jung un, dictator of North Korea, and Germany’s Adolph Hitler of the 30s and 40s. We must continue to put pressure on woke enablers, whether in the church, the workplace, or the government. If we fail, it means Marxism and socialism will be the dominant force in America, overtaking democracy and the freedom that we have enjoyed from the beginning of America as an independent nation; this by no means is an exaggeration; we must not fail; everything, I mean everything we count precious depends on it.
10. Increase your knowledge of wokeism: As I said in the beginning, too few Americans understand the dangers and objectives of wokeism; if they did, they would unite to defeat it and to stop it in its tracks before it gains the power to restrict religious freedom, freedom of speech, and other liberties. Knowledge makes us aware and gives us an understanding of someone or something. Knowledge prevents us from making the same mistakes of the past repeatedly. Before we can take action on anything, we must have knowledge, for without knowledge, there can be no action. Some books have been written about the threat of wokeism, and many articles are available on the Internet. 

Conclusion

The first item mentioned above is when God is on our side, we are the majority. Our first and greatest need is to have a relationship with God if we want Him to be on our side. Then we can say with the Psalmist, “The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?” Psalm 118:6 (KJV).
