Change Your Attitude And Change Your Life…

“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. The remarkable thing is that we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past; we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the string we have, and that is our attitude. I’m convinced that life is 10 percent what happens to me and 90 percent how I react to it. And so it is with you. We are in charge of our attitudes.” Charles Swindoll

Bad feelings and depression does not come from things and events but from how we respond to things and events. A great mistake in life is believing that material things and success bring happiness and good feelings. The fact of the matter is that they do not. While it is true that things do bring temporary good feelings and happiness, it wears off as fast as the newness wears off. Happiness and good feelings center in our attitude. Here’s the truth, if you can’t be happy before you get that new car or new home or whatever it might be that you want, you are not going to be happy afterwards either.

Our attitude is one of the most powerful of our emotions, so powerful in fact that It can make or break us. Material things need to be put into prospective; they come and they go but our attitude and the things that we truly value are a part of us.  They give us power to control our thoughts. “Change your attitude and change your life” is so very true.

The whole process of personal development enables us to place value on those things that truly have value, such as relationships and family, and to differentiate between those and things that have little lasting value.

The ability to think positive is learned and not something we come equipped with at birth. It is true that some are naturally more prone to look at things in a positive way while others see only the negative. Yet it is our own determination to input the positive into our minds that defeats the attitude that brings depression and feeling of failure. We can develop our attitude and control our thinking. We don’t have to succumb to the dark feelings of depression.

A great mistake in life is the failure to recognize just how important attitude is: “Your attitude is your best friend or your worst enemy, your greatest asset or your greatest liability.” ~John Maxwell

We can never avoid encountering setbacks, frustrations and disappointments; we must all face these things; they are part of life but they don’t have to defeat us and depress us. Each of our lives is full of circumstances and events; the difference is in how we respond to them. Even success can become a depressing event; once again it depends on how we respond to it.

We can expect that things will go wrong and things will not always turn out the way we expect. But when these things do come along, we have within us the power to overcome. We have a storehouse of beliefs that we have learned to back up on. We will use them to pull us through and pave the way for new and exciting adventures. We will waste no time struggling with those things over which we have no control but instead take charge of those things over which we do have control.

There is a song, popular a while back, “It is the climb” and not reaching the top of the mountain that is important. It is the everyday life of facing new adventures, solving problems and going forward that is what life is all about. These are the things that make up life. All of us are in this journey together; makes no difference whether you are rich and famous or poor and unknown, we all face the issues of life and it is not our status in life that determines how well we do but it is our attitude.

(“Your Attitude, not your Aptitude, will determine your Altitude.”)

In this awesome design of things you get a B- with regard to effort. Where you misplaced me personally ended up being in the particulars. As as the maxim goes, details make or break the argument.. And that couldn’t be more accurate in this article. Having said that, allow me tell you what did give good results. Your article (parts of it) is certainly really convincing which is most likely the reason why I am making an effort to opine. I do not really make it a regular habit of doing that. 2nd, while I can easily notice the leaps in reasoning you come up with, I am definitely not confident of how you appear to connect your ideas which inturn help to make the actual conclusion. For now I shall subscribe to your point however wish in the foreseeable future you actually connect the facts much better.
