Life Reset During Covid-19 – Part IV

Resetting your Spiritual connection
YOUR NEW LIFE: There have been a lot of books written on how to reconnect with your spiritual side, but that is not the subject of this article. It is true, we do have a spirit. In fact, we are triune beings having a body, a soul and a spirit. There are two kinds of spirits, the human spirit and the Spirit of God. Your real need is not to reconnect to your human spirit, but to reconnect to the Spirit of God, who gives new life. I worded the title “Resetting your Spiritual Connection” because that is your greatest need and your most important one. Resetting your spiritual connection implies that humanity once had one, which is true; however, the Bible tells us that a Spiritual separation between man and God occurred when Adam and Eve introduced sin to the human race. Therefore, your greatest need is to get God’s Spirit back into your spirit. The Bible defines Spiritual separation or Spiritual death as the state of all men by nature. Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Theologically, that is referred to as the Adamic sin nature or total depravity (Depraved of any goodness that meets God’s standard of perfect righteousness). Resetting your Spiritual connection means to once again have the presence of God’s Holy Spirit within your spirit.
The broken Spiritual connection with God’s Spirit demands the most serious question you will ever hear: “If you were to die today, where would you spend eternity? To remain spiritually disconnected from God results in eternal separation from Him in a place called hell. According to the Bible, the choice is ours to make. We can choose to reconnect to God by placing our faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, or we can choose to reject Christ and all He has done for us, which means having an eternal separation from God and His love. Why would anyone not want a connection with God, which offers eternal life and so much more, and it’s absolutely free for the receiver? If you are ready to take that step, this article will tell you exactly how, based on the instructions of the Bible. It will show you how to place your faith in Christ so you can know for sure that you when you die, you will go to heaven. It is not a hard thing to do; in fact it as easy as A,B,C: Admit, Believe and Confess:
A – ADMIT: Admit to God that you are a sinner. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God,” Romans 3:23. That verse is very easy to understand. It means everyone who ever lived on this earth has sinned against God. There are no exceptions regardless of how good a person may consider themselves to be. As a result of our sinful condition, the Bible teaches, “the wages of sin is death,” Romans 6:23. We know if we break a law, for example a speed law, if caught, that we must pay the wages for it, or the penalty. There is a penalty when we break God’s laws, or sin against God, which is death. This is the spiritual death I spoke about above, which is a separation of God’s Spirit from our spirit. So, the question is, how can we get God’s Spirit back into our spirit?
B – BELIEVE: Believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died on the cross, and rose again. It is not God’s will that any should perish so He provided a way for our sin debt to be paid in full: “While we were sinners, Christ died for us,” Romans 5:8. What that means is, Christ lived a sinless life here on earth, took our penalty of sin upon Himself and died on the cross that you and I, by trusting in Him, could receive forgiveness and inherit eternal life in heaven. God offers us complete forgiveness: “Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:” Romans 3:24.
C – CONFESS: Confess, or repent of your sins to God, and then confess to God your faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the LORD Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved,” Romans 10:9.
Would you like to receive Jesus as your savior right now? If you believe in your heart that Jesus died on the cross to pay the price of your sins and arose from the grave on the third day, tell Him in prayer what you already believe, and ask him forgiveness for your sins.
HOW TO PRAY: Understand that it is not a prayer that reconnects your spirit to God’s Spirit and saves you from eternal death; It is by God’s grace and your faith in Him. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God–not by works, so that no one can boast,” Ephesians 2:8,9.
The prayer is your way of communicating to God your faith in Jesus and desire to be forgiven.
Dear God, I ADMIT that I am a sinner, and I am sorry that I have sinned against you. I BELIEVE in my heart that Jesus died on the cross to pay for my sins. I CONFESS my sins and want to turn from them. Please forgive me. I invite Jesus to come into my life and be my savior and Lord. Thank you for loving me and saving me, In Jesus name. Amen.
After we receive Jesus as savior, God commands us to be baptized. Find a Bible believing church and tell the pastor the decision you have made and request to be baptized by emersion in water.
Did you pray the prayer above in all sincerity from your heart? The Bible says: “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved,” Romans 10:13. Did you in faith sincerely trust in Jesus to forgive you, to save you and to come into your life? Do you believe He is in your life now? What has He done for you?
Receiving Christ brings great privileges into our life. Through the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit, we are born into the family of God. The Holy Spirit indwells us, comforts us and is willing to guide our life if we submit to him.
This is the beginning of a wonderful new life for you, which deepens as you do the following:
1. Read God’s message in the
Bible to you every day; start with the book of John.
2. Keep the line of communication open each day with prayer.
3. Tell others the good news about Jesus and His saving power.
4. Worship regularly in fellowship with other Christians in a Bible teaching
church.
5. Demonstrate your new faith in Christ by your love and concern for others.
