Which to believe, the Bible or Science?

Only in recent years has science begun to catch up with the truths of the Bible. It was not until the sixteenth century, that an English physician by the name of William Harvey was the first to describe in detail the systemic circulation and properties of blood pumped to the brain and body by the heart. In the fifteenth century, science still believed the world was flat. The Bible declared both the purpose of blood in the body and the shape of the earth thousands of years before. According to Stars Insider, Science has finally come to believe that the Bible is true in at least 16 things:

1. The importance of Sanitizing: God commanded basic sanitation in the Bible; He commanded the Jews to go beyond what is common today: “And he that beareth the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: they are unclean unto you,” Leviticus 11:28 (KJV).
2. Disease can be contained through Isolation: “Command the children of Israel, that they put out of the camp every leper, and every one that hath an issue, and whosoever is defiled by the dead:”Numbers 5:2 (KJV).
3. The  round earth: “It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth,” Isaiah 40:22 (KJV). In the Greek language, circle means sphere, a round solid surface.
4. The core of the earth is hot: “As for the earth, out of it cometh bread: and under it is turned up as it were fire,” Job 28:5 (KJV).
5. The earth is suspended in space: “He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing,” Job 26:7 (KJV).
6. There are too many stars to be counted: “As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me,” Jeremiah 33:22 (KJV).
7. Not all stars are created equal: “There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory,” 1 Corinthians 15:41 (KJV).
8. Celestial bodies do not last forever: “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away,” Matthew 24:35 (KJV).
9. The Universe is made up of invisible particles: “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:” Romans 1:20 (KJV).
10. The state of water changes: “And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so,” Genesis 1:7 (KJV).
11. The flood likely happened: “And behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die,” Genesis 13:17 (KJV).
12. Noah’s ark had the capacity to carry every species on earth: “And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female. 20Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive. 21And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them,” Genesis 6:19-21 (KJV). A new scientific study shows Noah’s Ark would have floated without sinking with all the world’s species of animals on board, up to 70,000, according to the dimensions given in the Bible. God gave those dimensions to make sure the ark would float with all the species of animals on earth. At that time, only God had that kind of scientific knowledge. Research has discovered that the proportions of Noah’s Ark were carefully balanced and stabile with resistance to capsizing. The ark was as strong and seaworthy as a modern cargo ship.
13. David could have defeated Goliath:“And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came, and drew nigh to meet David, that David hastened, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine, 49And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth,” 1 Samuel 17: 48- 49 (KJV).
14. There are mountains under water: “Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains, “Psalm 104:6 (KJV).
15. The sun did stand still: “Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon,” Joshua 10:12 (KJV). We know that it is not the movement of the sun that causes day and night on earth but the rotation of the earth. However, we often explain things as they appear. We refer to the rising of the sun and the setting of the sun, which was also true in Bible times.
16. Blood is the life of all flesh: “For the life of the flesh is in the blood:” Leviticus 17:11 KJV. 

There is a scientific explanation to how Joshua’s prayer was answered: “Dr. Hezi Yitzchak, Dr. Daniel Weistaub, and Dr. Uzi Avneer, of Ben Gurion University in Israel’s Negev, released the results of their study in Beit Mikra, a Hebrew language journal for the study of the Bible. In the study, they suggest that the miracle of the sun standing still when Joshua fought five armies in order to help the Gibeonites was actually attributable to natural causes – namely, a solar eclipse.”

The results are based on the understanding that Joshua was asking for a relief from the burning hot sun and not extended daylight. It is not important that there is a scientific explanation of the event. It is only important that we believe in God’s power to do as He pleases even when it counters natural law.

The Bible contains a collection of 66 books written over a period of 1500 years by 40 different authors, on three different continents, and in three different languages. Yet all 66 books have a marvelous unity and never needs updating. In the Louvre, that great museum in Paris France, there are six miles of science books, all of which are no longer in use because they are outdated. The science of yesterday is no longer valid; it has been replaced with new updated information. The never changing Bible is proof itself that it can be trusted when everchanging science cannot.

Today, are you placing the future of your eternal soul on what science teaches, which has been wrong so many times throughout history? Science teaches there is no God, therefore, not to worry because death is the end. On the other hand, the Bible teaches, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment,” Heb 9:27 (KJV). Are you ready to believe the philosophy of fools over the wisdom of almighty God? In a Psalm of King David, the Bible says, “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God,” Psalm 14:1 (KJV). There is a God, and all who reject Him will one day stand before Him in judgement, and they will be cast into hell forever: “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.” Revelation 20:14 (KJV).

It does not have to be that way for you. Jesus came from heaven to earth to lay down His life on a cross to pay the debt for you sins.
