Will God Judge America?

In my entire lifetime, I have never seen a time as challenging in the United States as the present. I have never been as concerned and prayed as much for America as I do today.

Our nation was formed on the principles of the Bible and in God we trust. To survive as a nation, we must return to the roots upon which this nation was established. Only through the redemptive power of the gospel can a nation strive, and freedom grow.

Today, anyone with eyes can see how low a nation can sink with immorality, perversion, the killing of the unborn, overspending and the national debt, inflation, corruption, crime out of control, liberal judges who won’t enforce the law, open border allowing the cartel to control the border profiting from charging illegal aliens enormous sums of money to enter the country, a surge of fentanyl entering the country, which is killing over one hundred thousand young people on the average each year, despair and death, and the growing danger of terrorist entering the country. Only one way this nation can be restored is through the power of Almighty God. Otherwise, God’s judgment is imminent. It is time for Christians to think clearly about this nation’s political, moral, social, and economic issues.

Many nations in the past have been judged for the same issues that face America today. If America repents and returns to God, His blessings will also return. At the top of all that matters in life is the redemption that God offers through His son, Jesus Christ. Otherwise, there is no future or hope.

Twenty-seven years ago, a courageous, concerned Kansas pastor, Pastor Joe Wright, stood before the Kansas House of Representatives opening session and shared a powerful prayer. His concern was the healing of this nation, which he rightly proclaimed required repentance. Below is the invocation Pastor Joe Wright delivered:

“Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says: ‘Woe to those who call evil good,’ but that is exactly what we have done.

We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and inverted our values.

We confess that we have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and called it moral pluralism.

We have worshipped other gods and called it multi-culturalism.

We have endorsed perversion and called it an alternative lifestyle.

We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.

We have neglected the needy and called it self-preservation.

We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.

We have killed our unborn and called it choice.

We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.

We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building esteem.

We have abused power and called it political savvy.

We have coveted our neighbor’s possessions and called it ambition.

We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.

We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, Oh GOD, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free.

Amen!”

Proving how some will reject the truth, several legislators got up and walked out during the prayer that Joe Wright offered, but on the positive side, there were 4,053 who approved, and even requests were made internationally for a copy of the prayer.

God stands ready to forgive America if America is ready to repent and turn to Him; “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face [and turn from their wicked ways,] then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).

It is time that all Americans stand up for what is right if we are to preserve the freedoms, we have enjoyed all our lives. We must elect leaders who understand Americans’ needs and the dangers and damages done by leaders whose policies are slanted to the far left.

We as individuals may not have much control over this nation’s direction, but we do have control over the direction of our personal lives. In what is said to be Billy Graham’s final sermon, he began with this statement: “These could be the most critical moments of your life. You may be experiencing problems, burdens, sins, loneliness, emptiness, and fear. The moments that lie ahead are a time of decision. Whether or not you receive or reject Jesus, your life will never be the same.”

Whether we accept or reject the truth, things will never be the same when we know the truth. In these moments, as you read this article, you can come to the truth of God’s Word and receive the one thing that fills the vacuum of the heart that nothing else can by receiving Jesus Christ into your life as your savior and redeemer. God offers you forgiveness of your sins and the gift of hope and eternal life. God is the only source of the peace and calm the world is searching for today. I know this to be true because I have experienced it for most of my life.
