Warnings are given and often ignored, and the results sometimes are devastating. One of the most ignored warnings of history was actually a promise that God gave to Abraham of the Bible: “I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee,” Genesis 27:29

Abraham is the father of the Jewish nation of Israel. The promise that God gave Abraham to curse their enemies is a promise that he has kept now for over 3,000 years.

Israel is God’s chosen people, and God has been looking out for them for thousands of years, and those that have mistreated them have paid dearly. The warning to America is “Be careful America how you treat the nation Israel.” Read on and you will see why:

You might be wondering why God chose Israel over all other nations. Actually God didn’t choose a nation. It all started with one man long before there was a nation called Israel. That man was Abraham.

Abraham’s home and birthplace were in Ur of the Chaldees, located in the Tigris-Euphrates Valley region. Abraham and his family moved From Ur, about 600 miles (975 kilometers) to Haran. He was 75 years of age when he received his calling from God: The Lord said to Abraham, “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you,” Genesis 12:1-3.

God’s chosen people started with a chosen man, Abraham (There were no Jews at that time; the name Jew would come along hundreds of years later.). Abraham was chosen because he was a man of faith. In that day, Abraham was unique; he was loyal and faithful to the Lord, and it was for that reason God choose him instead of someone else, and promised to build a great nation from his seed. Abraham is the father of both the Jews and Arabs, but he was neither Jew nor Arab. He was Hebrew.

Abraham’s wife, Sarah, gave birth to their first son in old age; his name was Isaac. Isaac had a son whose name was Jacob (whom God renamed Israel, from whence we get the name “Children of Israel”). Jacob had 12 sons (from these 12 came The Tribes of Israel). One of Jacob’s sons was named Judah; his descendants were the first to be called the Jews. Although the Jews of today count their ancestry to Abraham, it was Isaac’s descendants who were to inherit the land of Canaan (Israel).

God has never failed to recompense those nations who mistreated his people Israel. That is why America needs to be warned. God has blessed the United States for not persecuting the Jews and for supporting Israel, but as of later years that support has grown weaker. The United States has armed Israel’s enemies, and anti-Semitism has grown in this country. One could almost believe that with the debt of the country out of control, and its dependence on Israel’s enemies for oil and the historically poor economy, that America is already experiencing God’s judgment. America needs to take notice of the history of other great nations who ignored God’s warning concerning the treatment of his people:

Egypt

At one time, Egypt was the envy of the ancient world. She was the wealthiest nation on earth, the greatest military power, and the leader in agriculture and science. Today the tourist’s guides can only point to the ruins that marked the greatest culture of its day. Today Egypt is in turmoil and isn’t even counted among the powerful nations of the world. What happened?

Egypt made a fatal mistake. The slaves they used to build their empire were God’s chosen people. Israel’s stay in Egypt was 400 years, and the latter part of it they were enslaved and treated cruelly. They entered Egypt with Jacob (Israel) and his 12 sons and their families, and when God delivered them from Egyptian bondage, they numbered over three million.

Pharaoh initially refused to let Israel go free, and God literally destroyed Egypt with miraculous plagues and finally drowned Pharaoh and his army in the Red Sea. From that day, Egypt continued to decline as a powerful nation to what they are today.

Babylon

Babylon became the first world wide super power but later followed Egypt and became weak and subdued. Like Egypt, they made the mistake of enslaving Israel for 70 years. The result was that Babylon was completely destroyed, and God pronounced a curse on them, declaring that they would never be rebuilt: “Babylon will be a heap of ruins, a haunt of jackals, an object of horror and scorn, a place where no one lives,” Jeremiah 51:37. Babylon still lies in waste until this day.

Saddam Hussein added another mistake to his list of mistakes when he started to rebuild Babylon. One of the last pictures taken of Saddam Hussein was with a noose around his neck just before he was hanged.  Hussein apparently didn’t believe what God’s Word says in Jeremiah 25:12 “But when the seventy years are fulfilled, I will punish the king of Babylon and his nation, the land of the Babylonians, for their guilt,” declares the LORD, “AND I WILL MAKE IT DESOLATE FOREVER.” Until this very day, for more than 2,500 years, ancient Babylon still lies in ruins and has never been rebuilt.

Today Iraq has no further plans to attempt to rebuild Babylon. However, there is a commission to preserve Babylon. The State Department announced recently a new $2 million grant to aid in the preservation of some of the site’s most impressive surviving ruins, which includes the sixth century B.C foundation of the Ishtar Gate, built by Nebuchadnezzar’s father, Nabopolassar. It is adorned with brick reliefs of the Babylonian gods Marduk and Adad. This is the famous blue-glazed gate.

It is Iraq’s hope that one day the ruins will serve as a tourist attraction and bring in large amounts of revenue.

Rome

Rome was the fourth and final world power. They also enslaved Israel and persecuted and murdered the Jewish Christians. There death as a world power was slow but sure, and today their former glory lies in ruins as does Egypt and Babylon. Neither are they considered among the world powers of today.

Germany

Adolph Hitler and his Nazi controlled Germany murdered approximately six million of God’s chosen people. It was his goal to annihilate the Jews completely. As a result, Hitler was killed, or took his own life, and Germany was nearly destroyed and remains a weak nation until this day.

The Soviet Union

The Soviet Union was also an enemy of Israel and still is. The once great world power is no longer. According to the Bible, one day during the end time events, Russia and other allied nations with will come against Israel to destroy them, and Russia and its allies will be completely destroyed by fire that God sends from heaven. That will be World War III, and a quarter of the world’s population will be destroyed in the one day war.

African nations

  • Niger
  • Nigeria
  • Ethiopia
  • Nigeria
  • Upper Volta
  • Senegal
  • Mali

The above have two things in common: Each one broke their diplomatic relations with Israel, and secondly they are among some of the poorest nations on earth.

Great Brittan

By 1918,, Great Brittan had grown to be one of the largest empires in the history of the world. They boasted that the sun never set on their empire; it stretched across four continents.

During World War II, Brittan was low on gunpowder for their naval guns, and the situation had grown desperate. Sir Winston Churchill contacted a brilliant Jewish chemist, Chaim Weizmann, and asked him if he could develop a synthetic acetone that could be used to manufacture cordite gunpowder. Weizmann was able to invent the process so that 30,000 tons of gunpowder was produced. He became a national hero. When asked what he should be paid for his services, he responded with, “I want Israel to have a national home, and so it was granted.” Great Brittan carried through with their promise; the Balfour Declaration was issued on November 2, 1917, for the Jews homeland in Israel. However, to win favor with the Arabs the land was divided giving the Arabs the choice land.* Immigration to Israel was eventually stopped.

By 1938,, Adolph Hitler had begun his assault on the Jews and the Jews begged Britain to allow them to enter Palestine, but Britain refused, and they were turned back to Europe and many wound up in the Nazi ovens.

When Israel became a nation on May 14, 1948, Great Brittan:

  • Opposed the Jewish state
  • Backed the Arabs
  • Disarmed the Jews
  • Staffed the Transjordan Arab Legion with British officers

Today Brittan’s empire is gone, and they only have a few islands and small colonies.

Israel Today

Israel, today,is surrounded by their enemies and has suffered the consequences of many wars in their short history as a renewed nation. They are the only nation in history that survived without a nation for 2,500 years to be re-established once again as their own autonomous nation on May 14, 1948. Today Israel is still looking for their Messiah. The Jews accept only the Old Testament as their guide of faith.

What does the Old Testament say about the coming Messiah?

Old Testament prophecies which describe the Messiah

  • His Pre-existence, Genesis 1:26
  • Born of the seed of woman, Genesis 3:15
  • Of the seed of Abraham, Genesis 12:3
  • From the tribe of Judah, Genesis 49:10
  • Heir to the throne of David, Isaiah 9:6-7
  • Born in Bethlehem, Micah 5:2
  • At the appointed time, Daniel 9:5
  • Born of a virgin, Isaiah 7:14
  • Declared to be the son of God, Psalm 2:7
  • Would be a prophet, Deuteronomy 18:15
  • Rejected by his own, Isaiah 53:3
  • He entered Jerusalem riding as king ridings on an ass, Zechariah 9:9
  • Sold for 30 pieces of silver, Zechariah 11:12
  • Accused by false witnesses, Psalm 35:11
  • Silent to accusations, Isaiah 53:7Spat upon and smitten, Isaiah 50:6
  • Hated without a cause, Psalm 35:19
  • The sacrificial lamb, Isaiah 53:5
  • Crucified with criminals, Isaiah 53:12
  • Pierced through hands, feet and side, Zechariah 12:10
  • Given vinegar and gall, Psalm 69:21
  • Soldiers gambled for his coat, Psalm 22:18
  • No bones broken, Psalm 34:20
  • Buried with the rich, Isaiah 53:9
  • Resurrected from the dead, Psalm 16:10-11; 49:15
  • Ascended to the right hand of God, Psalm 68:18
  • His coming glory, Malachi 3:2-3

There has only been one person in history to fulfill every one of the Old Testament prophecies above, and his name is Jesus Christ the son of God. Some have said his disciples tried to make it look as if Jesus fulfilled the prophecies, but as you see above, it was the enemies of Christ who fulfilled many of them. Interestingly, some of the prophecies above pertain to crucifixion 100s of years before crucifixion became a mode of execution.

God’s only way to heaven

Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me.” John 6:14

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thy heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9

If you would like to receive Jesus today as your Lord and savior, just follow these four simple steps:

  1. Admit you are a sinner.  “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
  2. Be willing to turn from your sin (Repent). “In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.” Acts 17:30
  3. Believe that Jesus died for you, was buried and rose from the dead. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” 10:9-10
  4. Through prayer invite Jesus into your heart as your Lord and savior. “Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13

Pray like this:

Dear Lord I realize that I’m a sinner and need your forgiveness. I believe with all my heart that Jesus died, was buried and arose from the grave to pay for my sin. I am willing to turn from my sin and follow Jesus. Please forgive me; I invite you, Jesus, to come into my heart and be my Lord and savior.

I just asked Jesus into my life (some helpful information follows)…

I may want to ask Jesus into my life, please explain this more fully…

I have a question or comment…
