Does it Really Matter What Mr. Steven Hawkins Thinks About God?

Does it really matter what Mr.Steven Hawkins thinks about God? It is certain that he does know a lot but with knowledge increasing at such a rapid pace today, it is literally impossible for one person to know more than a fraction of it. Then when you consider all the knowledge there is that is not yet known, it is incomprehensive as to how little any one person knows. So what one man thinks based on his limited knowledge is not really a matter of much concern.

Steven Hawking at one time did a least recognise the possibility of God but nows seems to have turned another direction: “The laws may have been decreed by God, but God does not intervene to break the laws. “Hawking also compared religion and science in 2010, saying: “There is a fundamental difference between religion, which is based on authority [imposed dogma, faith], [as opposed to] science, which is based on observation and reason. Science will win because it works”.

Is Mr. Hawkins talking about the science that declared the world flat in the day of Columbus or that bled the father of our country, George Washington, to death in the name of medical science of that day or is he talking about the six miles of science books in the Louvre in Paris, France, that great museum, that no longer work because they are obsolete? Science is forever changing; out with that proven to be unworkable and in with what is believed to work until it also is replaced by newer knowledge.

I in no way disrespect Mr. Hawkins and believe he has the right to believe as he sees fit. But let’s consider the real facts. Mr. Hawkins may be the smartest man on earth but the fact remains that he is still just a man and not a god. He is finite in every sense of the word, in his thinking ability, in his knowledge and everything else. Mr. Hawkins and all the intelligentsias put together have only a fraction of the overall knowledge.

Just because I can look up and see the sun, moon and stars, does that mean I know all the mysteries of the universe?  I’m wondering why Mr. Hawkins does not seem to consider that out there in all the vast knowledge that there just may be the possibility of God.

Just today, Stephen Hawking, the famous British physicist, called the notion of heaven a “fairy story” in an interview with The Guardian newspaper. I believe that God must have had a big laugh at that. We never have been able to see the end of this universe so how could we know there is no heaven. We are yet to understand the miracle of birth let alone the birth of the universe. In a new book, Hawkins says, “science doesn’t need God to explain the origin of the universe”. To say that God is no longer needed to explain the existence or origin of the universe is the height of ludicrous. There are so many questions concerning the universe that have no answer as far as man is concerned. Any conclusion man may make concerning the universe is based on limited and flawed knowledge bound to be replaced as soon as that which is newer comes along. Honest physicists will tell you “we have no idea what caused the universe” i.e. the Big Bang.

Does it really matter what Mr. Steven Hawkins thinks about God? In my humble opinion the answer is a resounding NO; I think he is all wrong when it comes to God.
